The Link Community Centre, Cumbernauld
Situated across from the Tryst. This well attended Community Centre is host to lots of Community groups. The majority seem to be private lets. This is where an individual or a group hire the space to hold their groups. When I attended the Information was not up to date but it was clear from the 2 groups that were running that the space is well used. While I was there on a Monday afternoon there was a club running called the Dove club. This offered a space for people to have some refreshments and take part in some arts and crafts ,games or some social inclusion. There was also a Senior citizens group who all seemed to be enjoying their activities. I wish I could give you a full list of all the groups available for this centre but it was not available at the time I visited. Here is a link to their site

Cumbernauld Indoor Bowling Club
Situated next to the Tryst. This large Indoor bowling club is quite impressive. This is a embers club with an annual fee of £80 (£50 for new members) which allows you to join teams and take part in the very healthy leagues (additional £2.50 per 2 hours) or you can play as a non member for £4 for 2 hours. Access by wheelchair is by the side door. This gives you access to the ground floor and playing green area. Access to the Boolers CafĂ© and bar area is by stairs and therefore only suitable for Wheelchair users who can transfer. I found the staff here to be very friendly and accommodating. If you are a non bowler, there are spare bowls available for you to give it a try. I would certainly recommend a visit and remind you that suitable footwear ( Soft shoe) is worn before you access the bowling green.
Cumbernauld Theatre
This small Theatre has over 250 seats. It shows everything from plays, Pantos to Comedy nights. I bought a ticket to the Comedy night on Friday the 25th of September. There were 3 acts plus an Mc. The Gig lasted approximately 2 hours. The venue has 2 public bars for refreshments. The venue holds 250 people but was attended by around 80 people on the night. I had a great night and would recommend this entertainment to you. Here is a link to their site
